Cleveland Public Theatre is seeking a Production Manager/Technical Director.
CPT ‘s mission is produce ground breaking performances and life-changing educational programs in order to raise consciousness and nurture compassion. Summary of Position: PM/TD position is a year round, salaried staff position. Salary range is 28,000-32,000 based on experience and capacity.
The PM/TD is responsible for the scenic, lighting and sound needs for CPT productions and presented artists and typically designs sets and/or lights for two to three shows per season.
The PM/TD has the following basic responsibilities:
- Works with designers to execute set designs, lighting plots and sound installations for produced works.
- Coordinates technical matters for all presented works and rental events.
- Recruits, trains, and supervises production and run crews—oftentimes these crews are made up of people with limited experience.
- Executes administrative responsibilities: production budgets, supply and equipment inventory and crew time sheets.
- Undertakes 2-3 design assignments for the season.
- Works with Executive Artistic Director to strategically develop the production department.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a history of success in technical theatre. S/he will be organized, conscientious, and detail oriented. S/he will have experience at successfully leading work crews, as well as being self motivated and comfortable working alone. The PM/TD must be able to set realistic goals, budgets, and timelines, and perform according to them. Must have a valid driver’s license, car, and clean driving record.
