Carnegie Mellon's Cuarteto Latinoamericano will be joined by pianist Heather Coltman to play Amy Beach's lush Piano Quintet and Miguel del Aguila's Clocks, for piano and quartet November 9 at 7:30 pm at Alumni Concert Hall, College of Fine Arts, on the Carnegie Mellon campus. Admission is free.
The program will also feature another work by del Aguila, Charango Cappriccioso, for piano four hands, cello and quartet, as well as a new work by Pittsburgh's David Stock, Sueños de Sefarad, commissioned by Cuarteto Latinoamericano and based on Sephardic songs.

Future Tenant and Thank You, Felix Productions will present the third installment of the annual ten-minute play festival, Future Ten 3: Pimp my Play. Split into two weekends (Fridays and Saturdays), the festival will feature a varied collection of plots and characters November 10th-18th.
You won't want to miss any of the excitement as audience members kick off each night with a "Pimp-Off" contest to win the coveted title of "Most Pimp-Licious." Also each Saturday (November 11 and 18) at 2 p.m. Future Tenant will host staged readings of new full-length plays by Future Ten playwrights Kim Leonis and Robert Isenberg.
Doors open at 7:30 and performances will start at 8pm. $10 suggested donation.

Free and open to the public at City Theatre ³Stage Directions² Discussion led by Tracy Brigden and Kellee Van Aken
City Theatre¹s Artistic Director Tracy Brigden and Artistic Associate Kellee Van Aken will lead a talk about casting and directing plays that have never been done before. Free and open to the public, the discussion takes place at City Theatre on Monday, November 13 at 7 pm. Designed for both theatre professionals and audiences who appreciate new work, topics include how an actor creates a character when there are no models for the role, ways to solve problems in a script when there are no proven right answers, and the challenges and rewards of totally inventing a play from scratch.

The best of Broadway meets the best of opera when Carmen Jones, the sizzling story of untamed love, is staged by Opera Theater at the Byham Theater, November 17 & 18, 2006, at 8 pm as the first production of the 2006-2007 season.
The cast features two Carnegie Mellon voice students: Thomas Lloyd as Corporal Morrell and Ashley Burroughs as Sally.
