A beginner’s guide to freelancing
lifehack.org: "As a freelancer, you virtually are everyone in a company. You are your own boss, your own marketing department, your own accounts department, your own project manager, your own legal department etc. The scope will be smaller compared to a corporate, but your scope of knowledge is much wider and many stuff to learn."

I feel like if you are going to start freelancing and you don't know some of these basics, maybe you should wait for a little while and work as an assistant to someone that already is a freelancer. It is very tricky and pretty easy to get screwed in this business, particularly if you don't know what you're doing and aren't at least using your common sense and deductive reasoning skills. This is certainly a good place to start.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I am deathlly afraid of depending on myself for every move that I make professionally. Getting wise to all the lingo and being able to handle all aspects of business is difficult and can really trip you up if you're not careful. I'm definitely someone who needs more knowledgable people on myside to help me get on my feet. Maybe one day I will feel more confident. But its a very scarey wold out there with money hungry people. Be cautious.
