Vincent Lighting Systems Shines On

Stage Directions: Partisan hometown alert: I am originally from Cleveland, Ohio, and an inveterate sports fan, cursed with rooting for Cleveland’s perennially losing teams. Until this year. The Cavaliers brought a championship home to Cleveland, and now the Indians can do the same. But since this is a theatre website, and I’m sure there are many non-sports fans out there, here’s a profile of a Cleveland lighting team: Vincent Lighting Systems. An ETC rep serving Ohio and surrounding states, Vincent Lighting Systems is a Cleveland theatre and production stalwart that anyone can root for.

I had no idea how far reaching Vincent was, they have offices all they way in Detroit? I have worked with Vincent a lot over the last 3 and a half years and I am always impressed with how nice they keep their gear, how easy they are to work with, and how accommodating they are - all awesome traits for a rental house. I have met Paul Vincent on a couple of occasions. Once when he was on campus and asked me questions about the animatronic rooster Chris and I were building for Seven Guitars. He stopped and watched for 10 minutes so he could see how the vacu-forming machine was used to mold chicken sides. The next time I ran across him, it was in Ben Peoples shop, where I was apparently the third person in a row to walk in, say hi to Ben, grab a piece of ancient computer equipment, and walk out during the course of their hour long meeting. This lead Paul Vincent to believe that a normal day in Trinculos Attic was a constant procession of seemingly random people showing up and helping themselves to random piles of hardware. Paul is a genuinely nice guy, and he runs a solid company. One thing is for sure, VLS is the only team from Cleveland you are allowed to root for in Pittsburgh.
