‘Frozen, A Musical Spectacular’ Premieres Aboard the Disney Wonder

Disney Parks Blog: We’ve raised the curtain on “Frozen, A Musical Spectacular!” Last night, guests aboard the Disney Wonder enjoyed the show’s world premiere, and the response is outstandingly positive! Kudos to our amazing creative team and cast for a job well done on bringing the story of “Frozen” to life on stage in an incredible new way.

I had no idea that Disney was going to be premiering their on-stage adaptation of Frozen, and I think it could be a really good fit. I feel as though it's a perfect way for them to test out the production, as cruise ship performances have a very different dynamic with their audiences. There isn't the same feeling of getting out and going to see live theatre and paying a ton of money to see it, the feeling is more along the lines of getting something extra out of the tickets that you have already payed for, which makes for a much more fun and positive atmosphere. Audiences may have a less critical mind, but I still think it's a great way to test out a production that has had palpable hype ever since the film premiered. It seems like there were massive calls for Disney to put the movie on stage, and since it has been a great while since the movie premiered, it makes sense for them to be testing it on a cruise ship rather than throwing it into a commercial theatre setting where it may not live up to the hype it has received.

I am all about this! Five minutes into watching the movie the first I knew that it was eventually going to become adapted to the stage. This is simply because there is just so much potential there. Firstly, the music and story is incredible. Secondly, if anyone was going to successfully pull off the challenge of creating a realistic winter on stage it would be Disney. Finally, it is going to rake in tons and tons of dollars all over the world. This is because the film’s fan base is so huge and diverse. I think it is incredibly smart that Disney is testing of several different productions of the play because when it finally comes time to take it to the great white way they will know what is successful and what is not. Also, the designs look gorgeous, and I am extremely jealous of everyone who has already seen it because I really want to see it.

I loved this movie!! I am so excited to see this show when it comes to broadway! Seeing the pictures from this shows they are putting in crazy amount of effort to try and make this amazing. I am very interested on how they will be doing olaf on broadway. In the pictures it looks like they are doing the same type of puppetry from the show the Lion King. I wonder if they will do that or if they will do something even crazier. No matter what i Believe the the show will be amazing.
