A Trip to the Hole Saw Factory
Tools of the Trade: Last month I attended Lenox’s 100th anniversary event at the company’s headquarters and factory in East Longmeadow, MA. There was a presentation on the company’s history, demonstrations of new products, and best of all—a tour of the factory.

If you were to ask me one week ago how frequently I used a hole saw, I’m not even sure if I have told you what one was. But on Thursday I had the opportunity to use a hole saw as I was making a "home-made" air conditioning system for my dorm (it didn’t work out so well in the end). I’m not going to lie, I went in thinking it would be a piece of cake to work… this was until the drill ripped out of my hand. Lesson learned. I later figured out that pulsing the drill is a much more effective way to get through the material I was using. After using the tool I had quiet the smile on my face, so hats off to the people at Lenox for making a remarkable tool that I hope to be well versed working with in the future.
