Oscar Protest: Visual Effects Artists March in Hollywood

Variety: Midday drizzle provided some relief from California’s parching drought but it was the Golden State’s withering visual effects industry in focus as visual effects artists took to the streets of Hollywood Sunday.
It was the second consecutive year the green-clad protestors massed at Hollywood and Vine hours before the Oscars to draw attention to the ills afflicting their business. This year’s head count was higher than last year at more than 540.

I would think the special effects men and women are some of the LAST people that should be messed with. 540 people showing up right before the Oscars, I hope made a pretty big statement especially because this is the second year in a row that these workers felt the need to protest. I don't completely understand what the issue is this year with the existing trade agreements, but I do understand that the Vfx artists feel under appreciated. These people are the ones that make so many movies as incredible as they are. So much of the movie industry is driven by the effects and editing can be done. The Lord of the Rings movies, Avatar, Gravity, and so many others rely on these artists and technicians to be produced.
