This is really dumb, not the article, the fact that this woman is trying to win her case against IMDB. If IMDB had posted something that was untrue and against her image, then she would have a case. But my understanding is that IMDB published her real age. I find it just funny that she submitted false paperwork to avoid her age. I understand that an actor's carrier depends on them marketing themselves. In which case this lawsuit is strange as she does not really seem to be helping her image. So I looked her up on IMDB myself and she is really having an amazing carrier, I am very impressed. With such a resume, why would she need to make such a big deal about this IMDB thing. Also, she is in her early 40s and she looks amazing.
I understand that people don't like having their information all over the internet and what not, but in this case, it's kind of part of the industry. I don't understand why she's trying so hard to sue them because of her age being revealed. Like Simone said, it's stupid. If you're a good actress, a website that says your real age shouldn't matter!!!
Her point is that age discrimination is a huge issue in Hollywood and to be honest, it is in every profession. The business woman who is 60, most likely will get looked over, for the younger woman who may have more longevity at 46. Let's be honest, that is how companies work and entertainment is no different. I think she should attack Hollywood and not IMDB. However, what I am wondering is how IMDB gets all of their information on actors. Is information provided to them or do they research it. If they seek it out, could IMDB then have been sued by someone else for publishing incorrect information, if they had lied about her age as she wanted? Also I think that this really only affects women unfortunately.
Seriously, she's repealing? I completely understand Jamila's point that there is age discrimination in Hollywood, and it affects women much more than it affects men. However, I don't think that publishing someone's ate of birth (which is a publicly available piece of information, if you search hard enough) is grounds for her to win this case. Furthermore, the fact that Hollywood actresses sometimes try ti hide or lie about their age just makes the problem worse.
