Review: Quantum scores with a clever 'Candide'

Pittsburgh Tribune-Review: "The cavernous concrete confines of a now-defunct car dealership's repair shop may not be the best of all possible worlds for a musical.
But it's certainly an intriguing site.
You can't help but feel the subtext for Quantum Theatre's choice of the former Don Allen Auto City as an apt setting for 'Candide.'"

I am perpetually frustrated by the reviews this production has received. It gets to a point where the 'abstract' is revered only because it is 'abstract'. All too often is the word 'abstract' associated with 'taking a risk' or 'telling a story in a creative way'. I can conformably say that the production I saw took risks and attempted to tell the story in a creative way - but as far as telling a story in a successful way, the show failed miserably.
