'Light' ballet traces the journey of Holocaust victim

Post Gazette: "The centerpiece of Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre's 40th anniversary season is no classic about kings, queens or sugarplum fairies.
Instead, PBT has selected 'Light/The Holocaust & Humanity Project' to mark the 71st anniversary of Kristallnacht, the 'night of broken glass,' considered by many to be the beginning of the Holocaust. The production runs tomorrow through Sunday at the Byham Theater, Downtown."

I am so disappointed that I missed the opportunity to see this show. It sounds absolutely breathtaking in all the good ways and the sad ones too. The Holocaust is obviously a horrific time period in history, one in which we could never fathom what those victims actually went through. But I do feel so inspired by Mills' drive to want to do something more meaningful with his art. The fact that he found someone's real story to tell, makes it even more so. I also like that he didnt want to make it about the aggressors but rather the victims, makes it all the more meaningful
