'Harold' paints the town purple at Pittsburgh-area stages
Pittsburgh Tribune-Review: "The stories in the beloved 'Harold and the Purple Crayon' book series by Crockett Johnson, featuring a toddler who loves to draw pictures that come to life, will unfold on several Pittsburgh-area stages during the next two weeks."

Reading this article, I thought that putting the story of Harold and the Purple Crayon on stage was a great idea. It is a classic story that would be enjoyed by both children and adults. After seeing the picture provided, however, of Harold in his bed with the moon in the background, all I could think was that Harold was looking pretty creepy. Almost like the way children are made eerie in horror scenarios to heighten the frightening qualities. I believe it has to do with the child-like mask that the actor is wearing, and wonder if there is another way to go about achieving this look.
