New York Fringe - ‘666,’ ‘Adventures of Alvin Sputnik,’ ’49 Project,’ ‘K of D,’ ‘His Greatness’

NYTimes.com: "In its first week the New York International Fringe Festival can seem vast and impenetrable, one of the few times of year when you enter the theater with almost no idea of what to expect. By week 2, however, reviews and word of mouth spread, and for alert audiences the menu of more than 200 shows shrinks to a few hits everyone’s talking about."

The fringe festival is always a bit of a hodgepodge. Fortunately when you work there you can see as many of the shows as you can find time for (that always being the problem) for free. With so many to choose from the ones I sat in or worked on last year ranged from horrible to unbelievable.
The other interesting bit about them is how they (like it's always said we do) often try to fill their small spaces and short shows with stuff on stage. When you have 15 minutes to load in before the audience shows up and then 15 minutes to load out while they're leaving you should try to condense your set as much as possible. Plus in the fringe, small but mighty is what we want to see.
