Culture cuts hurt everyone
Guardian Unlimited: "Wandsworth Council's plan to cut all funding to the Battersea Arts Centre (BAC) has rightly attracted a mixture of outrage and dismay from those who have seen how much the centre contributes to the community, to London and beyond."

Its such a shame. Art centers such as this one help to shape the community around it and bring talented young artists into the spotlight. As the article says many popular artists and productions wouldn't exist without the center and the unfortunate thing in that they won't be able to get the money from anywhere else, the governmnet won't reverse their decision, but will probably only increase the cuts. I thought we had gone through this "cut arts funding first" stage and had all realized the arts incredible value in the community.
That is ridiculous. It is so great to have places like this around so that young artists do have a chance to get started. By cutting such programs, where will young artists go? Not only does art help the economy, but it helps the culture of the community as well. So much will be lost by this cut, it is unimaginable.
