The Lion, the Witch and their wardrobe

Courier Journal: "These are just two of the costume challenges that Stage One's Allison Froyd tackled for 'Narnia,' a musical version of C.S. Lewis' popular story 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe' that opens to the public on Saturday."

First, Narnia the musical? That in itself is a little too much for me?
Second, I wonder why they choose to give so many roles to some of the actors. The same actor playing the professor, aslan and father christmas I can understand and makes sense if it really is through the eyes of a young child. But Mr. Beaver, Mr. Tumnus and the evil wolf all being played by the same actor doesn't seem to make as much sense.
Overall the costume designs are quite interesting in not having the animals be animals, but rather resemble humans. It's also interesting to hear that the many quick changes are being eased by simple solutions in the costume design, for instance the addition of velcro.
