If they can make it here ...

Variety.com: "Though its offices are in Gotham, the 45-year-old producer of family theater has always been itinerant, touring original adaptations of kidlit to 49 states. But as the company prepares to launch its 45th season, staffers are ready to expand their presence in family entertainment. The first step is staking a claim Off Broadway."

I think they can make it. I think people are tired of disney, and I think disney is running out of ideas. Classics like "If you give a mouse a cookie" will always be in style and have much more to give than the little mermaid. Stuff that kids can connect with books are much more resounding and will stay with them much longer than a cartoon. I think family theater can be entertainment that also teaches a lesson, right in front of the kids. It gets them engaged and lets their imaginations thrive. I love it!
