Abingtons native and Carnegie Mellon student wins screenwriting award en route to career

Lifestyles & People - The Times-Tribune: Many actors turn to writing at some point.

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck won an Oscar and achieved superstardom after co-scripting "Good Will Hunting."

Kristen Wiig penned herself a comedy classic with "Bridesmaids."

Even the Bard himself, William Shakespeare, was a thespian in addition to being the English language's greatest wordsmith.

So it appears that Kate Mickere is in very good company.
