Pittsburgh Tribune-Review: "After indulging its passion for Irish plays in 2008, Pittsburgh Irish & Classical Theatre will spend its 2009 season celebrating contemporary classics."
I love the cofident approach the company has to their season, especially with Rock n' Roll. Any small town theatre that can say to Broadway with pride "we can do it better" is something worth looking at. It'll be interesting to see what new take they bring to the production.
I researched this theatre for my presentation project in design and was really impressed by the company's dedication to theatrical education. I really think it is interesting how they are educating/re-educating audiences about "Rock 'N' Roll." In addition I love Tom Stoppard's work and look forward to seeing the productions. Additionally I wonder how intertwined Pitt's drama department and PICT's productions are. After all PICT performs in Pitt's theatres and their philosophy in regards to education makes it perfectly logical that students help with the productions.
