Zmorph Matures And Brings Industrial Quality To 3D Printing
makezine.com: Zmorph is a name many of you might recognize from hearing it in the 3D printing community. Founded in 2012, Zmorph made waves with the VX, an all-in-one unit that had 3d printing, CNC machining, and Laser engraving in one platform.

It is very impressive that this machine has three different toolhead that can do both additive and subtractive fabrication. The SMART toolhead is a very neat feature, especially since this tool is meant to be efficient for industry use. It can be very fiddly to get a toolhead in the CNC and get it zeroed correctly. I hope that the SMART-ness of the toolhead allows for the re-homing and zeroing process for the toolhead to be a straight forward and efficient process. Also, since this machine has both additive and subtractive fabrication abilities, I wonder if it's possible to build up and cut down on the same project? Maybe it doesn’t make sense to create a 3D print file just to then cut it back down, but it would be interesting if you could cut away at a piece, and then build back up structure to create holes within a structure or overhanging shapes that you can’t create just with subtractive fabrication and an overhead mounted tool.
