This technology is fascinating, but I’m not sure how useful it is. It seems like it would be useful, precise and save a lot of time, but after watching the video on how it works, I can’t say I think it would work well. The time it might take to apply all the tape, program the router, and whatever else you need to do seems like it would take a lot of time. The first few times I used this, I’d probably end up drawing my layout on whatever I was cutting anyway. It just seems that relying solely on the computer and screen to cut is a bad idea. I think it is always useful to see a line that you are cutting by hand. Now, if the router had wheels and servos and motors that made it move on its own, that I’d invest in. The autocorrect feature on the router seems like it wouldn’t make a very precise cut; the same can be said for the retraction of the bit. Overall, I’d test it, but I wouldn’t buy it.
