I must say before the program note, or advertisements in a Playbill, I first skim the cast and production team bios for big name universities and colleges.
Carnegie Mellon speaks so often about our network and alum. So obviously, I am always in search of who's working on what.
Sometimes I think is my education worth the money my parents are shelling out...
After reading a playbill, and looking at the boards as I walk through the halls, I am reassured I am making the right decision.
Back to schools...
I think it is so interesting that there is a "right" place for everyone.
Having come from a high school where many people went on to pursue the arts in their secondary education I have been exposed to many programs. It's so cool that there are so many programs offered all with different approaches.
Some schools stick together. I often see Disney productions line up a team that they like mostly alum of a single program. They work together production after production.
For this production Allegiance I think it is awesome that they have lined up a team, cast and crew, that was graduated from different programs. I think this allowed for greater collaboration and listening.
