C-3PO actor, Disney designer working on 'Star Wars' land pay visit to Carnegie Mellon

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: A long time ago in an African desert far, far away, a stage actor named Anthony Daniels was strapped into metal-and-plastic robot costume for his first scene.

He didn't know it at the time, but C-3PO was going to be a star.

The past and present aligned in a theater at Carnegie Mellon University Thursday afternoon, with Mr. Daniels — a visiting consultant/professor for CMU Entertaiment Technology Center — entertaining the youngish audience with tales from the "Star Wars" front.

By hanging around the Chosky hopefully I managed to "bump into" Mr. Daniels. He was one the friendliest people I have met and seemed perfectly happy to entertain random star wars questions. Although from looking him up on IMDB I am not surprised. The man made a career out of C3PO. And I do not mean that he played a bunch of roles as a result of the fame. He has voiced C3PO in every incarnation since the first movie. All the video games, and shorts with C3PO, that's him. I feel honored to have met him especially right before the force awakens. Speaking of force awakens, Disney made a great move when it bought Marvel. The cinematic universe it has created is astounding. I am very hopeful that they will be able to do the same with Star Wars. I fully expect 10 more movies and so many star wars toys its outrageous. This mov has solidified Disney as my absolute favorite company.
