Annie Awards Nominations Announced
Below the Line: The International Animated Film Society, ASIFA-Hollywood, announced the nominations for the 41st Annual Annie Awards recognizing the year’s best in the field of animation. Scheduled for Feb. 1 at UCLA’s Royce Hall, the Annie Awards cover 30 categories and include best animated feature, best animated special production, commercials, short and outstanding individual achievements.

I never knew that such a thing existed, but I think it's fantastic! I think the category break downs are fascinating. I noticed that there are distinctions between audience age groups, as well as feature films, commercials, and "episodic" cartoons that air on television. I was also impressed that in most of the technical categories, nominees were teams of people, not individuals, enforcing what we learn all the time about he significance of collaboration.
