Steppenwolf Theatre Company is now accepting applications for the year-around, full time position of Assistant Production Manager. This position is supervised by the Production Manager. The offer includes a salary and generous benefits package.
Required
Skills:
excellent written and verbal communication skills

excellent computer skills including MS word, excel, outlook & calendar

general knowledge of theatre procedures and practices, especially in the
production department
ability to coordinate multiple projects at once
valid driver’s license and current auto insurance
Responsibilities:
assist with the development of the company-wide season calendar
coordinate for distribution company calendar with all scheduled events and
productions
execute union and non-union designer contracts
execute all additional guest artist contracts
attend production meetings
attend technical rehearsals
coordinate distribution of all designer drawings, scripts, and other materials
arrange archival videotaping of shows
organize office inventory for distribution to stage managers and other staff
coordinate maintenance, upkeep and usage of company vehicles
solicit biographies from designers for program
coordinate all departmental expenditures; purchase orders, credit cards, petty
cash, and accounts
process all production payments
coordinate and maintain production office and stage management petty cash
coordinate and track all departmental materials orders
coordinate and maintain all departmental records; expenses, staff absences,
show budgets, etc.
supervision of production management apprentices and interns
coordinate the interviews and hiring all stage management interns
coordinate and maintain all contact information for visiting actors, directors,
designers, staff
maintain emergency contact information for all production staff
distribute contact information as required
assist with orientation of new employees and interns as required
serve as production department liaison to other departments of the theatre as
required
assist with the planning and coordination of multiple outside and staff events
Additional duties as required. Mostly a willingness to work in concert with the
production manager to
keep the department running smoothly.
