Up Close and Personal with the grandMA2 with Series 2 Software
iSquint: "We had a chance to get a close up view of the grandMA2 full size running series 2 software the other day. The grandMA2 consoles have already begun to ship. But series 2 software is still in the works. While it is very close to being released, the new software is hoping to be released later this year or early next year."

The please button is quite funny, but has an actual purpose. This is not just a company trying to be funny with their product. We were learning today in basic PTM how you should never hand a carpenter a drawing where she has to imagine what it will look like. She should be building what she sees. The same is true for a board op. She should have to press buttons based on what she hears. There should be no need for translation from please to enter. Though this is easy, it is just one more way things are becoming simpler and developed so we can use our higher level thinking elsewhere.
We got to see the GrandMA 2 full size at the BLMC this year. Its pretty freakin cool! The multi-touch screen used for mixing and shaping is one of the really useful things I've seen console manufactures install. Shutters can be shaped on say a VL3500 by just twisting them in, like you would on the ever so popular iPhone. I think this UI is going to be a big leap forward for programmers and designers. Not so sure where the rest of the software is headed, but we'll see.
The addition of a please button seems a little odd, but it may make programming easier for people who are new to the desk. I can't wait to finally get my hands on a gma once we start using them here at school.
