I like the idea that London is putting on their own Fringe Festival but I think it is a bad move to schedule it during the Edinburgh Fringe which is internationally known as one of the largest festivals in the World. If it's really about the art then London should want to make sure as many people can come as possible and they should do that by scheduling in a different month. I don't think a little over lap would be a problem but the whole time? That's a little much. If I wanted to go to both the Edinburgh and the London festival I would have to split my time or chose one. If they were at different times that were close to each other I might go to both. I think it economically makes more sense to stagger these events.
