Backstage.com: "In 2007, isn't the idea of a women's theatre festival a tad dated? Do we really need it?
Categorically no, it's not dated, and yes, we do need it, asserts Allan Buchman, artistic director of New York's Culture Project, which is presenting Women Center Stage 2007, a three-week festival celebrating theatre women whose work calls attention to various global struggles. More than 25 events — including theatre, film, music, and panel discussions — will take place at the Culture Project's new SoHo home, at 55 Mercer St., as well as at the Knitting Factory and P.S. 122."
