Knotfest Mexico Canceled After Barricade Breaks, Fans Storm Stage, Destroy Equipment
Revolver: Yesterday, November 30th, Slipknot were supposed to close out Knotfest México 2019, the latest edition of their hugely successful traveling festival, which recently announced its expansion into the world of metal cruises. However, after a barricade was pushed down during Behemoth's set earlier in the day, and multiple attempts by the festival organizers to fix it failed, the Iowan masked juggernaut canceled their headlining performance due to security concerns.

This is terrifying. The fact that destroyed barricade can not be repaired by the organizers between the shows is really a sign of total breakdown of the order on site.I did a little bit of background research on this band Slipknot. They are a famous metal band with over 5 million followers on online social medias such as Instagram and Facebook. I am wondering how bad was the situation and how violent it got. From the video clips posted in the article, the stage was set on fire and people were throwing equipment and instrument off the stage. At this point I really can't blame the people working in the festival not being active and trying to stabilize the crowd. It was a giant bunch of drunken fans that were angry about a cancelled show. Also, this is a good lesson of how not to announce a cancellation during a festival.
