IATSE and Broadway Producers Reach Tenative Agreement on New Contract
Stage Directions: IATSE and The Broadway League, along with Disney Theatrical Productions, have reached a tentative agreement for a new three-year contract. IATSE’s press release about it is below, and I’m sure we’ll be seeing one from the Broadway League in upcoming days. The contract runs from Jan. 1, 2013-Dec. 31, 2015, and includes such provisions as wage increases, employer contributions to health and pension plans for workers on tiered tours, and several items aimed at easing the challenges of touring production, including premium pay for load-outs on multiple show days, additional pay for makeup artists and hairstylists traveling on a seventh day and more.
