ASSOCIATE TECHNICAL DIRECTOR - Berkeley Repertory Theatre (LORT B) seeks an Associate Technical Director, for a year-round (starting July 2) salaried position with benefits.  The associate collaborates with the Technical Director on the design evaluation and cost analysis, engineering and CAD drafting, rigging and automation, as well as scheduling and personnel management to implement designs for 7+ shows each season.  Berkeley Rep operates a state-of-the-art 9,500 square foot scene shop, a proscenium fly house and a fixed grid thrust space.  Additionally the associate would help oversee load-ins and strikes, and work with other theaters to coordinate co-productions, tours, and transfers.  Candidate must be creative, a good collaborator, and an adept communicator.  An emphasis on safety and strong background in technical direction required.   Ideal candidate should have extensive education and experience in cost analysis, rigging, structural and automation design, as well as excellent AutoCAD skills.  MFA in technical theater preferred.
