Spotlight shines on Pittsburgh as two more movies set scene

Pittsburgh Business Times: "The two film projects follow at least two other productions currently under way in Pittsburgh: the Kevin Smith-directed 'Zack and Miri make a Porno' and a film adaptation of the Cormac McCarthy novel, 'The Road,' which is expected to begin shooting this month."

That is really cool that Pittsburgh is getting such a big spotlight for future filming locations. The city is very historic with all kinds of buildings, rivers, plants, and wildlife. I feel there is a lot for Pittsburgh to offer, after all it was one of the leading cities in the world at one point in history. It is also good to hear that graduates help the community of their college. I hope to one day be in that position.

Once again this is exciting that Hollywood is starting to move out east. I have heard from other sources that Pittsburgh is a great place to shoot a movie becasue it has so many different looks. There is the city, the run down steel industry, suburbs and much more. In addition to all of this I am sure it is cheaper to shoot here as well as to get people from Pittsburgh as opposed to people from LA.

I think that Bart definitely has the right idea here, because the city of Pittsburgh really does have a ton of different looks, and from a geographical standpoint, is a very diverse town. This also allows for more movies to be shot at the same time, which can have either positive results (more people will go to the movies with more options) or a negative result (with more movie choices, more films are set to not earn back there investments because the "blockbusters" still will rule the box office).
