Magnificent `Grimes' a Fiasco in New Met Staging
Bloomberg.com: Muse Arts: "The Metropolitan Opera's first new staging since 1967 of ``Peter Grimes'' on Thursday night in New York was almost a total fiasco. It was nominally rescued by conductor Donald Runnicles's assured control of both the orchestra and the sprawling onstage ensemble in delivering Benjamin Britten's overwhelmingly beautiful score."

It really sounds like the director and some of the designers missed the boat on this production. It's sad that the show didn't turn out well, but it's also good to read a review that seems to really understand how all of the elements of the show interacted.
Its nice to see a review that will spend more time talking about the overall production value, i.e. sets and direction more than the actors. it makes me wonder about the intended audience for this article and the background and training of the reviewer.
Hey this is like our conservatory hour. Critics. I guess i was not publicized or underrated, what ever the mistake, it must have been a mistake. However I know nothing about his play except that the professional working it are experts at what they do.
