J. R. Clancy to Moderate Automated Rigging Panel at USITT
Stage-directions: "J. R. Clancy, Inc. will bring together professionals from the theatre design, architecture and technical production fields in a panel session at the annual United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT) annual conference. The panel will be presented on March 20 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston at 12:15 p.m."

“Automated Rigging in Schools and Universities” will focus on the growing trend in high schools, colleges and universities of automated rigging instead of traditional counterweight systems.
somehow i dont know if automated systems in schools is a good idea. students need to learn how to operate fly systems that are in every other theatre that they may be working in one day. I think our solution here is best - hook up a winch to a lineset as needed.
