'August Wilson's 20th Century' puts his plays in perspective

Something I didn't see mentioned in the article was the fact that August Wilson not only wrote plays about the whole twentieth but that his perspective was changing with the decades as he lived them. He wrote of the early nineteenth century which he experience as a very young man and the 90s, which he experienced as an elderly person.
His view of these decades is incredibly unique that way.
