Stage Review: 'Vagina Monologues' provokes shock, hilarity and even reflection

Post Gazette: "Eve Ensler's 'The Vagina Monologues' is back in the 'Burgh, filling City Theatre's Hamburg Studio with a word that most of us can say in a normal speaking voice only with difficulty. When I told my manicurist what I was going to see that evening, she almost inhaled her file. But that's part of the fun, isn't it?"

I have of course heard of these monologues, but I have never seen nor thought of seeing them myself. When hearing that they are in Pittsburgh again, I considered maybe finding time to go. But still, I know I would feel mildly (if not largely) uncomfortable, and I don't know if something I would feel weird about seeing with a small group of friends I could see in a room full of strangers.
As for this article, the way it was written was both captivating and amusing!

So sitting in the cluster and talk of vaginas so course sparks my interest and then after some ridiculous use of the word vagina we finally read the article to find that it actually was somewhat interesting. Though I think we creped chase out a little. I learned a lot about the vagina monologues. I was always told that it was a really boring set of short plays that dealt with women's issues, but this article really played the show up to be really funny and probably quite entertaining. I think that it would probably be much more interesting to women, and obviously lacks universal appeal. I think it would still be a very entertaining evening.
