Lead, Follow, and Get Out of the Way

lifehack.org: "Leadership is about bringing out and mobilizing the best in the people around you. It’s about helping a group of people work together towards a shared goal or set of goals. When leadership works, it creates leaders, not followers."

This article put forth a really dynamic and collaborative way of looking at leaders, which I think could be really effective and useful in many situations, especially those where creative results are the primary goal. However, I also think that there are some situations of leadership that would not work so well with this model, especially where a hierarchy is extremely important to the function of an organization (the extreme example of this, I suppose, would be the military.)
