Costuming in the Entertainment Industry

Take time this summer to explore how costuming is practiced in themed entertainment venues. Be part of USITT's 2007 Costume Symposium, Costuming in the Entertainment Industry, from August 8 to 10 in Orlando, Florida.

A wide variety of panels and tours will highlight this segment of the industry including special considerations; the process of creating, tracking, and caring for large costume inventories; the design process; how people are transformed into mice, ducks, bears, dogs, and other characters; and employment opportunities.

Professionals from area theme parks and entertainment venues including Walt Disney World, Cirque du Soleil, Universal Studios, Sea World, and Busch Gardens will present panels.

The Symposium will conclude with a Friday evening performance of Cirque du Soleil's La Nouba.
