I love that in 1955 Disney was so short on cash that they had to get corporate sponsorship for their amsement park. Now Disney is a corporate sponsor. How the cycle continues.
And lest we forget - in the 1950s this stuff was REALLY cool. We have just become so desensitized over time. Ah to be back in the age of innocence when a squid ride was a really good time.
It is funny to think that Disneyland ran out of money when you consider the size of the Disney empire today. In this world of fortune 500 companies, it's hard to remember that everything starts from scratch, and is built from the ground up to what it is today.
i am sucgh a fan of old time photographs. and disney. so this is an amazing combination! however, i do not like the disney copyright issues so i don't know where i lie in the grand scheme of feelings with regards to disney. but i do wish those kinds of rides were still exciting.
i think it's amazing that disney has become a megapower of the entertainment industry-constantly improving and utilizing the newest technologies...and yet even the most ancient, simplest elements of its entertainment history are still profitable as a form of entertainment to this day...gotta love disney, they can incite amusement out of anything.
Product Placement, if Disney can do it, then I say it a a green light. HA. Not like this is related, but Cedar Point is has the history of the park in section of a attraction, and it draws a huge crowd (on rainy days...it is inside.) But people love the history enough that two discory channel show have been about the beginnings of CP... I would love to see the begingnig of Disney.
