Little Angel to plough Lottery cash into puppetry training
The Stage: "The venue, one of the few in the country to regularly stage marionette shows, has warned that the artform is in danger of dying out unless a younger generation comes forward to replace the current pool of puppeteers."

It's good to see that people still care about older art forms. There are so many things that we take for granted that are dieing out and people keep on telling themselves that there is no real danger of such things being lost. I'm glad that the money is being used to train new puppeteers, especially since there is such a good chance of those wanting the training to not be able to afford it. This is an excellent example to other people trying to continue work that is on it's way out. -Natasha Alejandro
I saw a version of a Christmas Carol at a theater in Charlotte NC where the Ghost of Christmas Present was a large puppet man. It was hysterical and the kids absolutely loved it (This was a Children's Theater). There is something about an animated, playful puppet that is so relatable when you're 6/7 years old. I think they are a great learning tool and effective way to communicate ideas to kids without having them lose interest. It fabulous that this theater is keeping this artform alive. We take for granted the fun and colorful tools of Children's Theater and when it finally dies I think we'll all be upset.
When I lived in Estonia the biggest theater was the childrens puppet theater. When I went and checked out the space, I was amazed. It seemed like anything thing that was cool in that country was placed in that theater... this has nothing to do with the grant Little Angel got, but I'm just making a point that some people still like puppets.
