California Shakespeare Theater seeks a full-time Props Artisan for our last show of the season- As You Like It, directed by Artistic Director Jonathan Moscone. The Props Artisan assists the Properties Master in acquiring, building, buying and altering props for an artistically challenging production. Applicants must be skilled in sewing, upholstery, shopping, crafts, painting, and computers (basic word processing and Internet searches). Excellent carpentry skills are required, welding experience desired. Professional theatre experience in props or scenery construction is a must, along with a creative mind and eye. In addition to prop crafts expertise, persons must possess strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Props Artisan helps supervise an intern and overhire personnel. Salaried position begins Aug. 14 - Sept. 16, with possible additional week.
