Also, don't forget, the primary director of the piece was also black....if they were going to fire anyone for racial reasons, wouldn't they go right to the head of the operation? This will be a huge blow to Universal if the case is won. The film industry will have to be careful from now on in how they give the "you're fired" speech.

It'll be interesting to see where this goes. For all that George Clooney alleges that Hollywood has the ability to separate itself from and comment on the world, it is also just as flawed as the world around it. Few people really realize what kind of out of date biases still exist in the studios. For instance, in the Disney co., there has never been a female director or art director. If this case wins i wonder how many complaints will be voiced about the racism and sexism existant in the studios.

Does anyone feel like we are currently going back in time? I agree with Miss hwang and would be very interested in seeing what evidence there is to support these accusations. These companies are so large and known for these types of situations that I almost believe this could be a true case. I mean, how long has the Winnie the Pooh trial been going on for?

I am interested to see how this turns out and how it affects the hiring proccess on movie sets in the future. I hope this doesn't turn into a huge debat about how racist the movie industry is. Although I agree strongly with maddie, I hope this makes people aware that racism is a problem everywhere not just in rural America and it needs to be addressed as a whole, not on a case by case basis.
