Squirrel costume
------------
Karaoke Ice is a public art project by award-winning artists Marina Zurkow, Katie Salen and Nancy Nowacek. It will premiere in San Jose for the ZeroOne: Art on the Edge Biennial in August 2006 (http://isea2006.sjsu.edu/). We are seeking a costume designer/ props maker to work on the creation of a man-sized SQUIRREL HEAD and SQUIRREL TAIL. The design will be more like a polygon construction from the world of 3D modeling, rather than a plush toy head (it will be 90+ degrees in San Jose in August). Karaoke Ice is part mobile karaoke recording stage, and part ice cream truck. The truck is run by REMEDIOS the SQUIRREL CUB, who is the trucks best friend, an indie rocker karaoke MC and master of cheap magic. The truck gives away free icy pops and provides a karaoke stage for audiences to perform popular songs recomposed in the vernacular of tinkly ice cream truck music. More info on the project is available at http://www.o-matic.com/isea The prop artist will have to make a duplicate version of the costume for back up. Small honorarium offered, plus materials. Excellent exposure opportunity and full crediting. You may email us for more information and visual references. Please email work samples and resume to marina@o-matic.com
