Cosmopolitan says it never wanted ‘Nocturne’ show

Las Vegas Review-Journal: They never wanted a separate show in the first place.

That’s perhaps the most surprising revelation in The Cosmopolitan’s response to a lawsuit filed by the producer of “Vegas Nocturne,” the now-closed show component of the interactive “supper club” Rose.Rabbit.Lie.

The hotel’s response, filed Friday in Clark County District Court, alleges “Nocturne” spun out of an integrated concept where “no one component would overshadow any other” and ended up costing $60,000 per show and losing $1 million per month for its six months of operation.

This is well….interesting I guess. And just sounds like bad business from both sides. Either the hotel was completely ignorant to what was going on the entire time, or I don’t know, didn’t care until it was too late? How is either possible? It’s kind of mind-boggling…but not at the same time. Now I have to say, The Cosmopolitan is probably my favorite hotel on The Strip, and I’ve spent a fair amount of time inside many of them, but unfortunately it seems to constantly be struggling? And yes that is kind of question, because I don’t fully understand why. The biggest reason I can think of, is its location. And the second, being that it is at times slightly more expensive than other casino/hotels in Vegas. But that’s no excuse for them to just to practice bad business… But at the same time, I could see where the producer for Nocturne and Rose.Rabbit.Lie could have possibly “snuck it in” or deceived The Cosmopolitan… but to an extent, this is the hotel’s fault for not monitoring the project closer and demanding a more satisfying product.
