I wonder whether they kept the studio closed this entire time with this studio tour being the end goal. Have they been slowly modifying and readying the space to become another Game of Thrones attraction since that terrible thing we call season 8 came out in 2019? I do wish it weren't in Ireland just because I'd love to go and that's very far. A ticket there would cost significantly more than the ticket to enter (or at least I would hope.) I'm curious to see how/if they choose to populate the tour with actors in costume to give each space the feel of actually being populated or if it'll just be a simple "let's lead you around and tell you cool behind the scenes stuff about each set and the scenes that happened on it." I'm also curious is the restaurant and cafe will have Game of Thrones themed or show featured foods. Things like the Frey pie Arya cooked in the season 6 finale.
Oooh this is going to be very exciting once it opens. My dad and sister are huge Game of Thrones fans and they are going to die to see this. Game of Thrones has such amazing production and design elements in it. The costumes are incredible as well as all of the production design along with pretty much everything else! It is also cool to see that this has been being worked on during the pandemic to open up in 2022. This makes me think that a lot of time and care went into the planning of this experience and making it just perfect for those die hard Game of Thrones fans. I don’t like the show enough to go out to Ireland to see it, but I would love to see some more photos of it once it opens. I always loved the idea of studio tours after the production of something. It is really cool to be able to get up close with some of the real pieces of the show.
