I am so excited about Rivers of Light! On the PTM blog I saw a related post on the costumes for Rivers of Light and they were absolutely breathtaking. Now reading about how those costumes will be illuminated and how the design with play into the narrative of the show I am even more interested! I wish I could just book a ticket to orlando and experience all theses things I am writing about. I feel like I could give much better feedback. In the meantime however, I will have to be content in writing a response based on reading. I love how disney guides you through your day with their activities. Breakfast in the morning, rides and experiences in the afternoon, appropriately located dinning areas, and now with Rivers of Light, they have provided a way to wind down at the end of your day and reflect. I myself have always found water soothing. It is also a beautiful medium for light which is why I am so excited about this new addition to the park.
Ahhhh I can not wait for Rivers of Light! Disney World has been in desparate need of an Animal Kingdom nighttime show for so long, but they never did because of the animals. I am really glad they are learning how to incorporate a nighttime show anyway, because they are always spectacular. I was very upset when I went to Disney World this January and saw that I would be just missing Rivers of Light by one season. I am also glad that the performance does not involve fireworks (probably for the animals sake) because I think that would be kind of out of the theme of the park. Animal Kingdom (obviously) focuses a lot on the natural things, so while water projections and lanterns are not natural creations, they are much more cohesive with the park. I think this will be a great way to wrap up the day at Animal Kingdom, and it will probably be a big hit. I can't wait to see it!
