City Theatre's 'Pop!' an offbeat look at Warhol shooting

| TribLIVE | Pittsburgh: City Theatre concludes its season with a pop shot at one of Pittsburgh's icons.
Playwrights Maggie-Kate Coleman and Anna K. Jacobs put pop art pioneer and trendsetter Andy Warhol as the target of a gun-wielding assailant in "Pop!," a new musical that begins performances tonight at City Theatre on the South Side.
The satirical, unconventional musical is based on an actual shooting that took place on June 3, 1968, at The Factory, Warhol's studio on Manhattan's Union Square.
