Power behind British theatre

It is not every day that you get to sit down and chat with the woman currently hailed one of the two most powerful people in British theatre – the other being her husband. Yet here we are, in the VIP bar of the Edinburgh Playhouse, ahead of the opening night of Les Miserables.
It has been well documented how Rosemary Squire met Howard Panter some 31 years ago. She was working in the box office of a London theatre, selling tickets for a well received but financially catastrophic play he was producing.
They met, worked together, bought some theatres and then, 15 years later in 1994, they married.
