Pittsburgh Tribune-Review: Mel Brooks loves musical theater.
For more than five decades, Brooks made audiences laugh: first on 1950s television shows such as "Your Show of Shows" and later with scripts for classic film comedies -- "The Producers," "High Anxiety," "Blazing Saddles" and "Young Frankenstein" among them.
It wasn't until 2001, when his musical "The Producers" opened on Broadway -- and won 12 Tony Awards -- that he discovered his new love.
