Bill McKinley: Does a Bear Sing in the Woods?
Backstage: "Scheduled at this June-July time of year, Does a Bear Sing in the Woods? could be considered a bow to gay pride. As the show stands, however, it could also be considered a blow to gay pride. Though McKinley begins mildly enough, with a version of the early-20th-century novelty ditty 'The Teddy Bears' Picnic' (John W. Bratton-Jimmy Kennedy), he quickly segues to a parody of the Fred Ebb-John Kander 'Cabaret.' He starts it by singing — you should pardon the quotation — 'What good is shitting alone in the woods?"
