The Seagull - Chekhov

New York Times: "THE Classic Stage Company’s production of “The Seagull,” currently in previews with a March 13 opening, was in rehearsal a few weeks ago at a studio on West 28th Street in Manhattan. During a break the play’s director, Viacheslav Dolgachev, the artistic director of the Moscow New Drama Theater and a former director at the Moscow Art Theater, and Dianne Wiest, the two-time Oscar-winning actress, who will play Arkadina, paused to answer questions from Rosemarie Tichler. Mr. Dolgachev spoke through an interpreter."

Dolgachev really has a strong understanding of Chekhov and the processes of theatre. i have no doubt that this is a phenomenal production of The Seagull. with an understanding of the material and the process like these two individuals have, it seems that success would be difficult to miss.
