Mary-Louise Parker - Dead Man’s Cell Phone
New York Times: "Interviews, however, come with newsworthy events, and it is worth reporting that Ms. Parker is back on the New York stage after four years’ absence — her longest stretch away from the theater since she was 17. She is starring in “Dead Man’s Cell Phone,” Sarah Ruhl’s new play, opening Tuesday night at Playwrights Horizons. Kathleen Chalfant also stars, and Anne Bogart is the director."

Mary-Louise Parker is hands down my favorite actress. I loved the metaphor she said about the kid who feel down and got a bloody nose. People enjoy seeing others who are worse of than them. Grow up and put yourself in that position. I admire her for being so grounded.
I loved her both in Angel's in America and Weeds. And I love that she is back in theatre. In the beginning of the article, it says something about the theatre actors taking a small characters in the blockbuster movies in Hollywood. And I really agree that it is really unfortunate to see some of the theatre actors playing a role that the actors are too good for. But I guess everyone has to make some money.
This actress sounds really intense. "when she made clear, loud and clear, that her performances were not to be edited and rearranged without her knowledge." I have never heard of an actress telling a director or an editor that her role is to be portrayed or modified from her knowledge about the role. She also sounds like she has really strong ideas about the world. Her remarks on the person who got the bloody nose were really strange. I don't know why she gets so defensive about that...it sounds like maybe someone filmed her and put her on youtube during a not so great moment for her. Overall I don't think I would ever want to work on anything with this actress.
